I read a bunch of great books on July. My favorites were The Friend by Sigrid Nunez, The Perfect Wife by J.P. Delaney, and The Escape Room by Megan Golding. I cannot recommend them enough.

I am not familiar with The Friend at all. I will have to check it out and read your review. I am frantically trying to catch up on blogs that I have been missing due to other commitments.
I hadn’t heard about this book either, bumped into it by chance in Goodreads when I was browsing about something else
