And he’s the perfect husband: breadwinner, protector, provider. That’s why he’s planned a romantic weekend for his wife, Mia, at their lake house, just the two of them. And he’s promised today will be the best day ever.
But as Paul and Mia drive out of the city and toward the countryside, a spike of tension begins to wedge itself between them and doubts start to arise. How much do they trust each other? REVIEW
Paul Strom is a successful, handsome man married to Mia, a stay-at-home mom. The books narrates a day in the life of this couple, but is not just any day, it is the day Paul takes Mia away to their lakehouse home for a relaxing weekend.
On the journey there we hear Paul’s thoughts about their life and how it has evolved to this day. The story is told from the point of view of Paul and it alternates between the present day and past events.
It is brilliantly told and Paul is an excellent character. I was completely captivated by the novel and finished it fast.
Overall, I loved the novel and highly recommend it to readers of thrillers and contemporary fiction. I look forward to the author’s next book.
